1. Preparation and Inspection

Clean the guide rail surface: Use a lint-free cloth dampened with alcohol to wipe the guide rail raceway to remove oil and impurities, avoiding any impact on adjustment accuracy.

Check the installation status: Confirm that the guide rail is installed flat and securely, without looseness or deformation; also check whether its parallelism and perpendicularity meet the equipment requirements.

2. Check the current clearance value

Measure with a feeler gauge: Insert a feeler gauge between the slider and the guide rail raceway, gently pull it to feel the resistance, and record the clearance value.

Use a dial indicator for testing: Monitor the offset with a dial indicator while the slider is running, and determine a reasonable clearance range based on the equipment's operating conditions.

✅ Recommended standard: The worktable guide rail clearance should generally not exceed 0.04mm, ensuring both flexibility and maintaining accuracy.

3. Loosen the fixing bolts. Using a torque wrench, slowly loosen the fixing bolts on the slider in a diagonal sequence. It is not necessary to completely remove them; loosen them only until the slider can move slightly to prevent sudden shifting and affecting accuracy.

4. Precisely adjust the clearance.

If the clearance is too large: Slowly tighten the pre-tightening screw on the side of the slider clockwise, checking with a feeler gauge as you adjust, until the ideal range is reached.

If the clearance is too small: Loosen the pre-tightening screw counterclockwise, manually push the slider to feel the smoothness, avoiding excessive tightening that could increase friction or cause jamming.

⚠️ Precautions:

A smaller clearance is not always better; sufficient margin must be allowed based on load and speed.

After adjustment, the bolts must be tightened evenly; tightening on one side is strictly prohibited to prevent guide rail deformation.

5. Verification and retesting.

Multiple checks and confirmations: After adjustment, repeatedly measure with a feeler gauge and dial indicator to ensure the clearance is stable and without deviation.

Trial Run Observation: Perform no-load operation from low speed to high speed, checking for any abnormal noise, vibration, or jamming.

Applicable Preload Level: Select light preload (light load), medium preload (normal), or heavy preload (heavy load) mode according to the equipment load.

6. Synchronous Maintenance Recommendations: Clean up metal shavings generated during adjustment promptly to prevent impurities from entering the raceway and affecting its lifespan.

Regularly check the wear of components such as slider screws, guide plates, and inserts, and replace them as necessary.
